A production of the BBC's Scotland service, 50/50 was an exciting new slant on the old "high school quiz bowl" format. On each episode, selected students from two different schools competed against each other in a rapid succession of zany games and athletic events. The program debuted in 1998, and originally existed in weekly 25-minute format. Before ending its BBC1 run, 50/50 had yielded at least one extra-length Christmas special.
