The 1998 Winter Olympics are remembered partially for hosting a handful of upsets. Tara Lipinski's victory over favorite Michelle Kwan in figure skating was one such surprise. The 1998 Winter Olympics Highlights is a two-volume offering, featuring replays of the award-winning programs from Nagano, Japan. Commentators Scott Hamilton, Verne Lundquist, and Tracy Wilson talk viewers through the graceful competition as Lipinski edges out her American competition. Russia's Ilia Kulik takes home the gold in the men's category, and Russian faces also top the podium for the ice dancing and pairs competition. Released just one month after the competition, this video distills over 20 hours of competition into 140 minutes.
