This historical drama details the true story of clockmaker Georg Elser (Christian Friedel), who tried to assassinate Adolf Hitler in 1939. His account of how he placed a homemade bomb under a podium in a Munich beer hall on November 8, 1939, is intercut with his torture and confession at the hands of Gestapo agents after he is arrested.
