Biography by AllMovie

During his brief film career, Zbigniew Cybulski was known as "The Polish James Dean" because he--with his dark glasses and angry demeanor--symbolized the feelings of young Poles trying to deal with their tumultuous post-WW II world. Cybulski made his film debut alongside Roman Polanski in Wajda's A Generation in 1954. Soon afterward, Cybulski became one of Poland's most popular, versatile stars until his accidental death aboard a train in 1967. The following year, Wajda made Everything for Sale as a highly fictionalized tribute to Cybulski.
