Biography by AllMovie

An expert in the sound arena of feature films and television, Matthew Wood began racking up small-screen credits as a sound editor and assistant sound editor on episodes of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles for The Family Channel and Lucasfilm during the early '90s. His ties with George Lucas remained strong over the course of his early career, and indeed, he re-teamed with the Star Wars guru on several occasions -- first as assistant supervising sound editor on the 1994 period comedy-mystery Radioland Murders (which Lucas executive produced and Mel Smith directed), then as supervising sound editor on Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars: Episode II -- Attack of the Clones (2002), and Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith (2005). Concurrent with Sith, Wood branched out into on-camera work as a voice artist, first with a role in that film as General Grievous, then in 2008 by voicing the same character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Wood received at least two major award nominations for his work as the sound editor on Paul Thomas Anderson's There Will Be Blood: an Oscar nod and a BAFTA nod. His resumé also includes sound credits on such films as Mission: Impossible (1996), Con Air (1997), and Munich (2005).
