Biography by AllMovie

A blonde Danish starlet, Winna Winifred (born Amalie Nielsen) went to Paris in 1930, and landed the plum role as the glamorous gang leader in Jean Renoir's Georges Simenon mystery La Nuit du Carrefour (1932). The European arm of Warner Bros. brought her to England and there was talk of a Hollywood career. Winifred apparently never made any films in America, but she did star or co-star in a series of British productions that included Naughty Cinderella (1933) and Tovarich (1935), in addition to the French Les Mutinés de l'Elsineur (1936) and Une Idé à L'eau (1940).
