An early screen auteur, William L. Roubert wrote and directed (and in one case produced) films starring his young son Matty Roubert. None of these endeavors seems to have survived, and Roubert remains one of the scores of once well-known personalities completely forgotten by even the most ardent film historian. His final film seems to have been 1922's For You My Boy, in which young Matty discovers that he is adopted.
