Playwright and screenwriter Ron Whyte earned a Pulitzer Prize in 1983 for his play Disability: A Comedy. He was at one time the coordinator of the playwrights' and directors' division of the Actors' Studio in New York. He also edited the Soho Weekly News and the American Book Review. Screenplays include The Happiness Cage (1972). In addition to his other achievements, Whyte also penned a children's book, The Flower That Finally Grew, and co-wrote the textbook The Story of Film.
