One of the final stars of the New Rochelle, NY-based Thanhouser company, Wayne Arey had come to the screen in 1915 after having played Cole Younger in a highly successful touring presentation entitled The Younger Brothers Bank Robbers. Spending his entire screen career with Thanhouser, Arey became the final leading man to that studio's beautiful but ultimately tragic heroine, Florence LaBadie, whose death in a car accident near Ossining, NY, on October 13, 1917, heralded the demise of the Thanhouser company itself soon after. The last actor remaining under contract, Arey returned to the legitimate stage.
