Biography by AllMovie

A dramatic and musical critic for the San Francisco Morning Call, Walter Anthony was reportedly offered a position by Mack Sennett after interviewing the pioneer producer for his paper. Leaving Sennett in favor of Universal, Anthony spent four years with that company writing and designing titles for a host of popular films before switching to Warner Bros. and First National, where he was appointed head of the scenario department. He remained with Warners (who had merged with First National) until 1935 and later became a major contributor to Paramount's short subject department, writing such popular series as Unusual Occupations and Popular Science.
