Child actress Sharann Hisamoto made a handful of memorable television and feature film appearances in a career lasting from the mid-1960s until the early 1970s. Longtime viewers of Dragnet may recall her at age six, in the 1967 episode "The Gun", as the young daughter of a rape/murder victim -- this episode was notable as one of the rare instances in which veteran police officer Joe Friday (Jack Webb) is almost pushed over the edge by his anger over the killing -- Hisamoto's scene with Webb at the end, in which her character (speaking Japanese) provides a soothing presence to help the detective recover his equilibrium, is one of the high points of the series. She subsequently appeared in an episode of Petticoat Junction as a Vietnamese orphan, and in Custis Harrington's thriller What's The Matter With Helen?. Her final screen appearance to date was in the 1973 musical remake of Lost Horizon.
