The older brother of silent screen stunt man/star Eddie Polo, Sam Polo followed his brother from the world of circuses into films in the 1910s and, again like brother Eddie, appeared mostly in serials. Retiring prior to the advent of sound, Polo spent his final years at the Motion Picture House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, CA. He was survived by Eddie's daughter, Malvina Polo, a silent screen actress who had played the deranged girl in Erich von Stroheim's Foolish Wives (1922).
