After essaying a bit role in 1925's The Merry Widow, Don Ryan moved into screenwriting. After attaining his first onscreen credit in 1929, Ryan was signed by Warner Bros. Here he worked primarily on the studio's B-product, contributing scripts for the Perry Mason and Torchy Blaine films, among others. Don Ryan ended his career at Republic in 1941, where his most memorable assignment was the John Wayne starrer Wheel of Fortune (1941).
