During the 1920s art director Robert Herlth was among the most prominent theatrical and film set designers in Germany and was known for creating marvelously baroque sets. Unfortunately, by the 1930s, such elaborate settings had gone out of fashion and Herlth began working on more mainstream films. Herlth frequently worked with noted art director Walter Rohrig.
