Supporting and character actor Reid Shelton is best-known for originating the role of Daddy Warbucks in the long-running Broadway musical Annie (1977). Fans of the raunchy HBO cable series First and Ten (1984-1991) will remember Shelton for playing Coach Ernie Denardo. Shelton died of a stroke in Portland, OR, on June 8, 1997, at the age of 72.
