Filmmaker and screenwriter Rajko Grlic was actively involved with his native Yugoslavia's "Prague Group" of filmmakers (credited for breathing new life into their country's cinema) and is best known for his documentaries, short films, and television dramas. Grlic's interest in filmmaking began when he was young and began making amateur films on his own time. In 1971, Grlic graduated from Prague's film school, FAMU, after studying under Czech filmmaker Elmar Klos. Once back in Yugoslavia, Grlic directed documentaries and episodic television. He frequently co-writes his scripts with director Srdjan Karanovic.
