A tough-looking, often bearded supporting actor in silent westerns, Pat Rooney (real name Fred Rooney) had made his screen debut in Broncho Billy Anderson two reelers as early as 1911. By the 1920s, Rooney was playing villains opposite such also-ran cowboy stars as Leo Maloney and Edmund Cobb. He should not be confused with the same-named vaudeville and Broadway performer.
