Born Dolores Conchita Figueroa del Rivero in Washington, D.C., Chita Rivera is best known as a multi-talented Broadway performer. She first appeared on-stage in the 1950s and has specialized in musicals. Rivera began her sporadic film career playing Nickie in the screen version of Sweet Charity (1969).
