Biography by AllMovie

Manhattan-born actor George Morfogen was an alumnus of the Yale School of Drama. He made his off-Broadway bow in 1957's Trial of D. Karamazov, which led to a wealth of theatre engagements in such productions as Othello, Once in a Lifetime, The Good Soldier Schweik and The Fun Couple. Peter Bogdanovich, who'd directed Morfogen in Once in a Lifetime, gave the actor his first screen role as The Headwaiter in What's Up, Doc? (1972). Subsequent films in George Morfogen's resume included The Thief Who Came to Dinner (1973), Daisy Miller (1974) (another Bogdanovich film) and Those Lips, Those Eyes (1980).
