Judith Barsi was a promising juvenile actress who met with a tragic end. Prior to entering feature films in the mid-1980s, Barsi had appeared in many commercials and made guest appearances on TV shows. She made her screen debut appearing in Eye of the Tiger (1986). In 1987, she appeared in two more films and then provided voices in two Don Bluth animated features in 1988. That year, when she was only 12, Barsi and her mother were killed by her father; who then took his own life.
