Onscreen performer Jennette McCurdy launched her acting career as a child star in the early 2000s. She subsequently divided her time between supporting roles in made-for-television features, such as the 2004 Tiger Cruise and the 2007 Last Day of Summer; guest-star assignments on series programs including Malcolm in the Middle, CSI, and Will & Grace; and occasional bit parts in theatrical features. McCurdy ascended several notches in terms of billing when cast as one of the leads on the Nickelodeon cable series iCarly in 2007. The program concerns Carly, a young woman (Miranda Cosgrove) who runs a regular Internet webcast with two of her friends (played by McCurdy and Nathan Kress). In the years to come, McCurdy would appear in movies like Minor Details.
