Handsome rather than beautiful, former stock company actress Miriam Nesbitt (née Schanke) played Queen Anne opposite her husband Marc MacDermott's Richelieu in The Three Musketeers, an Edison production released in two parts in 1911. Mr. and Mrs. MacDermott went on to co-star in numerous one- and two-reel melodramas for the pioneer company, remaining with Edison until 1917 when Nesbitt retired.
