Yet another former Keystone Kop turned director, George Jeske, from Utah, later helmed two-reelers starring Billy Franey for Reelcraft and Stan Laurel comedies for Hal Roach. In the sound era, Jeske turned to screenwriting, penning such "Grade-B" fare as the Torchy comedies for Educational and Ray Whitley Western shorts. Jeske retired from films to operate the Aladdin Theatre in the desert community of Indio, CA.
