French director Jacques de Baroncelli made 76 films over his thirty-plus year career. Unfortunately, quantity is not to be confused with quality, and his early silent films are generally regarded as much better than his later efforts from the '30s and '40s. He was born to an aristocratic family in Boil Hargues, France and his son has become a noted French film critic.
