Romanian director Mihai Iacob has helmed theatrical, television, and feature-film productions. He began his varied career following his graduation from Bucharest's Institute of Theatre and Film Art in 1955, where he later served as a lecturer in drama. Iacob started out in filmmaking instructional films for students. In 1957, Iacob co-wrote and co-directed his first feature, Dincolo de Brazi/Beyond the Fir Trees, with Mircea Dragan. He would subsequently share screenwriting credit on almost all of his films.
