Biography by AllMovie

Though independent British filmmaker Maurice Hatton never had much commercial success, he is still admired by film critics for such razor sharp, daring political satires as Praise Marx and Pass the Ammunition (1968). Hatton got his start in the 1960s working with partner John Irvin. Praise Marx was his film debut and many considered it a film ahead of its time. Hatton focused on making television films between the 1970s including Bitter Harvest (1973) an examination of Cesar Chavez' fight in the California lettuce fields. The highly touted American Roulette, a satire of the film industry, was Hatton's final feature film. .
