Indiana native Mack V. Wright was an actor, stunt man, director, writer, assistant director, and production manager on hundreds of films (1917-1955), all of it done with little distinction but with a sure sense of speed and economy. Wright is perhaps best remembered for playing the title role in the 1919 serial The Lion Man and for directing several of John Wayne's Westerns for Warner Bros. (1932-1933). In his later years, Wright functioned as assistant director and production supervisor for B-movie maker W. Lee Wilder.
