An elderly character actor from Ireland, Luke Cosgrave enjoyed some good supporting roles in American films of the 1920s, including that of Kingdom Come Knapp in Duran of the Badlands (1925) and Lorelei's grandfather in the first version of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1928). Basically an extra after the advent of sound, Cosgrave was visible as a very old bandleader in Gone With the Wind (1939). In his final years, the veteran actor resided at the Motion Picture Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, CA.
