• Part of the musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy along with Shankar Mahadevan and Ehsaan Noorani.
• Met Ehsaan Norami in 1989 when they decided to produce some ad jingles together.
• Has worked with and played keyboard for famous composers like A.R. Rahman and Nadeem-Shravan.
• His daughter Alyssa Mendonsa made her singing debut on the song "Uff Teri Adaa" in the film Karthik Calling Karthik (2010).
• Is trained in Western classical music but has also acquired a vast knowledge of Indian classical music.
• With his trio he composed the music for the album Haath Se Haath Mila as part of the AIDS Awareness campaign which was launched by the BBC World Service Trust in 2010.
