An American cameraman and second-unit director in films from 1919, Lewis William O'Connell's work ranged from such silent classics as The Bells (1925) to the seminal gangster drama Scarface (1932) to Three Stooges comedies. O'Connell later worked as lighting director for ABC-TV in Los Angeles.
