Noted television and feature-film producer Lauren Shuler-Donner got her start as a camera operator following studies at Boston University. She was the first female member of the Hollywood Electronic Camera Union and rose to become a television associate producer. In 1979, she produced her first television movie, Amateur Night at the Dixie Bar and Grill. In 1983, she produced the hit feature film Mr. Mom. Two years later, she co-produced LadyHawke with filmmaker Richard Donner, whom she eventually married. By the mid-'90s, she became an executive producer.
