Though the Virginia native was born Jon Dalton, his interest in wrestling spawned the stage name Jonny Fairplay -- a name which those familiar with the world of reality TV may recognize as the notorious Survivor: Pearl Islands alumnus who elaborately fabricated his own grandmother's death to gain sympathy from fellow competitors. His actions helped earn Fairplay the dubious title of least popular Survivor cast member in the show's history, though he unarguably remains one of the most publicized. After placing third in Survivor, Fairplay capitalized on his own "most hated" status and become somewhat of a staple in a community of former reality television "stars." In 2005, Fairplay appeared on E!'s Kill Reality series, which followed a group of reality television graduates filming a horror movie.Fairplay was romantically linked to two Kill Reality participants: The Real World's Trishelle Cannatella and Tonya Cooley. In 2006, Fairplay could be seen on MTV in True Life: I'm a Reality Star, and he was a contestant on CMT's Ty Murray's Celebrity Bull Riding Challenge in 2007.
