A popular turn-of-the-century musical comedy star, John Reinhard had appeared in the original Chicago version of The Wizard of Oz in 1902 and starred in such popular shows as The Girl Behind the Counter, Miss Innocence, and the Ziegfeld Follies, originating the hit song "Every Little Moment" in the latter. Reinhard entered films with the Thanhouser company of New Rochelle, NY, in 1914, remaining with the company well into 1915, and according to his own calculations, appeared in "80 multi-reel subjects." He was later with Knickerbocker Star Features and had featured roles in Nazimova's Eye for Eye (1918) at Metro and the serial The Carter Case (1919). Reinhard should not be confused with Austrian actor/director John Reinhardt (1901-1953).
