Busy stunt player John Bagni spent most of his onscreen career in serials, from Flash Gordon (1936; as one of the Hawkmen) to The Phantom (1943; as Moku, a native). Through his wife, screenwriter Gwen Bagni, he switched gears in the late '40s to become a proficient writer of television plays, including a segment of Four Star Playhouse called "The Last Voyage," for which he received a Writers Guild of America award. Bagni died of a heart attack in 1954.
