Biography by AllMovie

A beautiful brunette with a soulful gaze, Jean Paige (born Lucile Beatrice O'Hair) made her screen debut in 1917 and spent her entire career in Vitagraph films. In her final film, Paige co-starred with J. Warren Kerrigan in the 11-reel 1924 version of Rafael Sabatini's Captain Blood. It was Paige's uncle, Colonel Bishop (Wilfred North), who purchased young Irish physician Peter Blood (who had been exiled to slavery in Barbados) because she had fallen in love with him. The film was produced by Albert E. Smith), the founder of the pioneering Vitagraph company and Miss Paige's husband since 1920. She apparently never regretted leaving films to raise a family.
