• Began taking piano lessons at age 3, and later learned to play the guitar and cello.
• Was discovered by Taiwanese entertainer and host Jacky Wu when he performed on his program Chao Ji Xin Ren Wang (Super New Talent King), playing piano alongside an aspiring singer. Wu later hired him as a composer to write songs for Mandarin pop artists.
• Made his feature directorial debut with Secret, the 2007 comedy-drama about the romance of two pianists.
• Won the World Music Award for Best-Selling Artist in China in 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
• Knew very little English before taking the role of Kato in 2011's The Green Hornet.
