Biography by AllMovie

Often billing himself Jack Greenhalgh, New York-born John Greenhalg Jr. became one of the busiest cameramen in Hollywood. An assistant camera operator in the 1920s, Greenhalgh would later become the credited cinematographer on hundreds of B-Westerns, at one point in the late '30s and early '40s averaging more than ten films a year. Working all over Gower Gulch, he later found a home with Poverty Row newcomer PRC, a studio nicknamed, for obvious reasons, "Pretty Rotten Crud," where he photographed the Billy the Kid and The Lone Rider series. Greenhalgh's final (credited) work came in the 1953 sci-fi turkey Robot Monster, which he filmed mainly in Los Angeles' Griffith Park.
