Producer, screenwriter, and occasional director, Irving Cummings Jr. worked in feature films and on television. The son of silent era actor turned filmmaker Irving Cummings, he got his start writing the script for Yesterday's Heroes (1940). He produced his first film, The Sign of the Ram, in 1948 and his last feature film, A Girl in Every Port, in 1952. In 1955, Cummings created and produced Fury, a family-oriented television series recounting the adventures of an orphan boy and the black stallion he tamed.
