Filmmaker Edward A. Blatt was born in Russia but raised in the U.S. Before becoming a film director, he was a playwright and producer of theatrical productions. In 1932 he became an associate producer at Paramount. Eight years later he began working for Warner Brothers as a dialogue director and became a full-fledged director within a few years. After making a few films, he returned to the stage and eventually became a television producer.
