American actress Edith Roberts starred in many Hollywood silent films. A native of New York City, she got her start in childhood on the vaudeville circuit. Later, she worked on-stage. In film, she appeared opposite such actors as Lon Chaney, George Arliss, and Alfred Lunt. Roberts was frequently cast as a strong-willed fireball.
