Biography by AllMovie

A brunette starlet of the early 1920s, Texas-born Dorothy Allen lent a bit of rustic charm to the popular 1920 tearjerker Over the Hill to the Poorhouse. She returned to the same kind of environment (and story) four years later in The Hoosier Schoolmaster, from Edward Eggleston's 1871 novel, this time as nasty Mirandy Means. Those were the highlights in a brief 1918-1925 career spent mainly in Poverty Row quickies.
