American screenwriter David Silverstein made his first film contribution around 1933. Silverstein went on to write or co-write such Monogram "specials" as King Kelly of the U.S.A. (1934) and Streamline Express (1935). From 1936 to 1941, he was on the writing staff at 20th Century Fox. David Silverstein never rose above B-pictures or programmers, but he was successful within these limits.
