A white-haired, often scruffy old gent in B-Westerns of the late 1940s, Cliff Taylor was the father of former vaudevillian June Carr Ormond and thus the father-in-law of Ron Ormond, the executive producer of a series of very low-budget oaters starring the whip-wielding Al La Rue. Taylor, who earlier had run the well-known Broadway eatery Coffee Cliff's, appeared in at least eight of these ramshackle Westerns, often playing a miner or a barfly, and also supported Donald Barry, James Ellison, and Russell Hayden, all waning cowboy stars appearing in cheap Ormond films..
