Alabama native Barret Swatek pursued a life in competitive figure skating until she was 12 years old. Her natural affinity for performance made her a natural on the ice, and even after she stopped skating, Swatek found a place on the stage in community theater productions. After studying film in college, Swatek began appearing in movies and on television, playing a nurse in Lethal Weapon 4, and making a guest appearance on Just Shoot Me. In 2000, Swatek was cast as Cheryl in the WB series 7th Heaven, which she'd stick with until 2003. After a role in the short-lived series quarterlife in 2008, the fair-haired actress was cast in 10 Things I Hate About You, a TV adaptation of the 1999 film.
