Biography by AllMovie

Beginning her brief screen career as Gloria Heller, brunette Anne Sheridan had, according to her official studio biography, studied "English literature and languages" prior to winning the beauty contest that paved the way to Hollywood. No different from a host of starlets, Sheridan played flappers in Grade-A pictures and essayed prairie heroines in low-budget oaters opposite the likes of Bob Steele, Buddy Roosevelt, and Bob Custer. She left films at the advent of sound and should not, of course, be confused with the later "Oomph Girl," Ann Sheridan (born Clara Lou Sheridan).
