Director Tamás Fejér was the first Hungarian to utilize dubbing in a feature film. Fejér taught himself the basic techniques of film by making a few amateur shorts in the late '30s. In 1943, Fejér published A Film, a book on film theory. Following World War II, Fejér became one of the first to lecture at Budapest's Academy of Theater and Film Art. He directed his first feature, Bogancs, in 1958. In the early '60s, Fejér turned his focus to television and specialized in films and series aimed at children and young adult audiences.
