Synopsis by Augustine Chay
Director M. Night Shyamalan’s thriller film is an adaptation of Sandcastle, a graphic novel by Pierre-Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters. Starring Gael García Bernal, Vicky Krieps, and Rufus Sewell, it narrates the existential shock and horror that ensue when a family embarks on a tropical holiday at a secluded beach — only to discover that a mysterious force is causing them to accelerate the aging process. They struggle to cope with the compression of their remaining lifespan into a single day.
