This German musical comedy was obviously inspired by the works of French director Sacha Guitry. Yvette (Ruth Hellberg) is a virginal young woman raised in a convent school. Upon reaching the age of consent, Yvette can't understand why she attracts the attentions of a jaded man of the world, Johannes Riemann. Then she discovers that her mother (Kaethe Dorsch) financed Yvette's education by plying the World's Oldest Profession. On the verge of committing suicide, Yvette finds true happiness with virtuous suitor Albert Matterstock. Yvette is based on a story by Guy De Mauppassant
