Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Glenn Hunter plays Ted MacDonald, who is traveling from Asia, where he and his father Edmund MacDonald (William Calhoun) have been conducting relief work amongst cholera victims. Their ship is visited by Lois Brooke (Marie Burke), who is stuck there when the vessel is quarantined. Ted and Lois fall in love and he is seduced by her cocktails, lively spirit, and frivolous lifestyle. He follows her to her Long Island home, ignoring his father's orders to return with him to the South Seas. Lois is hostess to a constant stream of partygoers who think of nothing but jazz and drinking, and Ted completely forgets about the more meaningful aspects of life. Finally his father comes to Lois' house, and Ted remembers his sense of duty; Lois too is burnt out and disillusioned by her pals, and she leaves with him.
