Synopsis by Alice Duncan

The practice of meditation has long been used for reducing stress, enhancing relaxation, improving energy, and refreshing the body, mind, and spirit. In this set of tapes from Yoga Journal, well-known yoga instructor Rodney Yee guides participants through five sessions to help them practice meditation, relieve body tension and anxiety, improve posture, and breathe more freely. Majestic images of natural beauty from Yosemite National Park serve as inspiration for each session. Sessions include: "Mountain," a quiet series of flowing postures to warm the body, free the breath, and calm the mind; "Garden," a gentle exercises involving a chair, to stretch the back and hips; "Tree," four traditional sitting poses, which can be adapted to individual requirements; "Wind," a guided exploration of breathing and posture; and "Sky," a meditation designed to restore the mind and body.
